Self-Serve Candy Bars
Our brief:
- To assist in the design & development of self-serve candy bars for sites throughout Australia
- To co-ordinate the manufacture and installation of all candy bars throughout Australia.
- To work within a specified budget.

Outcome:
- JCS assisted in the design & development of the self serve candy bars into modular components wherever possible.
- JCS provided a "shopping list" of modular parts, each individually priced, enabling Event Cinemas to instantly determine the price of any given candy bar at any given location. If the sites were outside the Sydney metropolitan area , freight was added.

This shopping list enables Event Cinemas to immediately know its costs for a canby bar without going through a lengthy tender process.
The modular components allows the shop drawings of the candy bar to be detailed in just 2 days, these are then sent to Event Cinemas or the Project Architect for final approval. This whole exercise - from initial concept to the start of manufacture - can be done within 1 week.

This is a saving of approximately 8 weeks from the usual process of tender, tender analysis, drawings from an architect, shop drawings from a joiner and the normal approval process. This is an enormous advantage to the client by getting the projects up and running with very short lead times.

Overview:
· To produce a candy bar including installation takes 4 weeks.
· JCS engages 2 joiners: metalworker and a solid surface fabricator to produce the candy bar.

. A candy bar value is circa $100K.
. During the manufacturing and installation process, JCS works with the Project Builder and advises on the processes required to ensure a seamless process between the building works and the joinery itself.
